Te aka ora charitable trust

Our Background
Te Aka Ora Charitable Trust was established in 2005 following a community need for Community support services. Te Aka Ora grew out of the  conclusion of Community Service - Te Ora Hou. Following a community need and demand for service support.
Te Aka Ora was established to assist in the alleviation of poverty within the Tairawhiti Community. This mission has guided Te Aka Ora towards community support, education and initiatives for the Whanau and Communities in need.

Te Aka Ora Charitable Trust (TAO) is Ministry Of Social Development (MSD) and Ministry of Education (MOE) accredited. MSD accreditation means that TAO are safe and trusted providers capable of working with children, young people and their whanau.

What does “Te Aka Ora” mean, the name derives from the biblical verse - John Verse 15 -1-5
I am the real vine and my Father is the gardener. He breaks off every branch in me that does not bare fruit, and he prunes every branch that does bear fruit, so that it will be clean and bear more fruit. You have made clean already by teaching I have given you. Remain united to me and I will remain united to you. A branch cannot bear fruit by itself; it can do so only if it remains in the vine. In the same way you cannot bear fruit unless you remain with me.
Te Aka Ora provides a pathway for the community to have access to the vine of opportunity, enabling the community to continue to grow their branches.

. Our philosophy and Values derive from the biblical verse - Galatians Verse 5-, v 22
But the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control. There is no law against things as these. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have put to death their human nature with all its passions and desires. The spirit has given us life; he must also control our lives. We must not be proud or irritate one another or be jealous of one-another.
